Last Bit of Summer ...

Published on 31 August 2025 at 15:39

Hello,

This summer seemed to fly by just as it seemed to have started. I lost track of the time myself, with the hustle and bustle of summer. I hope your summer has been great!

I thought now would be a great time to restock your snail mail writing supplies or make one if you're new to writing cards and letters. We are headed for the month of September, which seems to be a good time to restock or add more to your snail mail/stationery supplies before the coming months holidays make it difficult to do complete this little stationery project. It also helps to also gather cards for the coming holidays, so you may easily send Thanksgiving and Christmas Cards, as its one less thing on your to do list when the holidays are a week away or in you're in the mist of the holiday.

Here is list of a few snail mail supplies that are great to have on hand to make writing a card or letter easy, as well as quick.

Snail Mail Supplies Checklist:

Paper (plain paper, designed paper, cards, etc. - remember any holiday cards if you send these or want to).

Envelopes

Stamps

Pen, pencils, etc.

List of Addresses to Whom you want to write to

Keep all of these items in a specific spot, desk drawer, specific box to hold these items, etc.

(This is a basic snail mail supply list, however, you can all embellish this list by adding some of the following items: address return labels or stamp, stickers, washi tape, ink stamps with ink, markers/art supplies to decorate your letter or card; as well as your envelope if wanted).

Having these supplies makes it easy to send or write a card when you find a minute or two to write a card or perhaps you set aside time to have a cup of tea/coffee/hot chocolate/hot cider  to write a letter in a calm and cozy time away from the digital world for just a bit.

Just as a side thought: It might be a fun thing to include a picture of something you did or worked on during the summer in one of your cards or letters to share a little more about you to whomever you may be writing to.

Happy Writing!

P.S. I thought I'd include a photo of some hollyhocks in front of one of my front windows. The hollyhocks make me smile when I look out the window.

Warmly,

       Sally
